“Among Us” Disney Xd: Trapanese is an old hand in the Tron franchise and has worked together with Daft Punk for the score of the Tron: Legacy film. Tron: Legacy. He composed Daft Punk’s tracks using his knowledge of the field of film score and orchestration, to transfer the ideas of the duo for the orchestra. The collaboration was a success and the music made it to Top 10 lists and was sold to over 500 million units, which earned a gold certification. Based on their experiences working with Trapanese for this particular project Daft Punk recommended him to Disney to compose the music to Tron: Uprising.
Joseph Trapanese’s score to TRON:
Uprising draws elements from Wendy Carlos’ score for the 1982 film, as well as scores written by Daft Punk for the film of 2010. Score for Uprising incorporates a variety of synthesizer patches created by Daft Punk for Tron: Legacy however, it also expands the film’s sound palette and musical themes while paying homage to the work that has been made before.
Trapanese said that the creators of Legacy and the team of writers who were working on Uprising collaborated closely to create a distinctive sense of being connected to the Tron films in the same way. He also said that being provided with the framework to work with and having the flexibility to explore ideas in different directions was among the most satisfying aspects of the project.
Trapanese composed a cinematic style score for the series. It perfectly fits the style of animation of TRON:
Uprising. The series takes place between the 1982 original film and the 2010 film Tron: Legacy and tells the tales of the inhabitants from The Grid. Tron: Uprising uses CGI however, it is based on visual language that takes us to traditional 2D animation, and obviously the films.j
Trapanese mentions it was one of the most difficult difficulties of composing the series was that in contrast in the films, there was more than 7 hours of footage to use instead of just two hours. In addition, Trapanese had to work with a universe that wasn’t restricted by the physical limitations of stuntwomen and stuntmen and the real-world effects, which added another level in complexity production.

Joseph Trapanese has spent his entire life performing music, beginning to play the trombone and piano when he was a kid, and even playing as a member of the New York Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall. Additionally, he was a student of music composition in the Manhattan School of Music. He also attended graduate school at UCLA within the Music for Visual Media program and was awarded the very first Jerry Goldsmith Award in 2007.
After completing his studies Trapanese began his work as an orchestrator for the well-known Showtime program “Dexter”. He also has worked on films and TV shows which include “Fast Five”, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, and “Butter”.
