The top seeds are generally doing well but Julie Niemeier upset No. Anett Kontaveit was the 2nd seed and won 6-4, 6-1 in Wednesday’s second round. Kontaveith is currently suffering from COVID-19 long-term side effects. Ugo Humbert, the men’s champion, fought hard to defeat No. Casper Ruud was defeated by Ugo Humbert, who won by scores of 3-6.
