Hocus Pucs 2 finally released the first trailer for its long-awaited sequel. It will be available in time for Halloween
Disney has confirmed an official release date of Hocus Pocus 2. This film is almost 30 years old and features the Sanderson Sisters returning to Salem, Massachusetts.
The original film is a beloved classic, and although many sequels to it feel like shamingly cashing in on nostalgia. However, it’s difficult not to be excited about Salem’s return. We can’t wait to see the return of the Sanderson Sisters. Here are the details about Hocus Pocus 2.

Hocus Pocus 2. When will Hocus Pocus 3 be released?
At Disney’s upfronts presentation on May 2022, it was confirmed that the sequel would land on Disney+ September 30, 2022 . Filming began on the sequel in Rhode Island in October 2021. was completed in late January 2022.
Now, we have to wait for Hocus Pocus2 to arrive. But, to fill the gap in your life that has been left by this movie, you can watch it again on Disney+. Everything seems to be on schedule for the sequel, barring any unexpected delays.
Hocus Pocus 2 Cast: Who’s in Hocus Pocus 2!
Bette Midler had basically confirmed in Oct 2020 that she would be returning for the sequel with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, and Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson.
We had to wait until May 2021 for an official announcement that the stars would be back as the witchy trio. But, really, it wouldn’t have been a Hocus Pocus movie if they weren’t there.
We don’t expect to see Thorabirch as Dani Dennison again as she was forced to leave the role due to scheduling conflicts. She stated in May 2022, “Everybody tried so much to make it happen but it just didn’t work out. But everybody tried so hard.”
We are still waiting to hear if Omri Katz or Vinessa Shaw will return as Max and Allison.
Katz asked in March 2022 if the OG OG stars were returning. Katz replied, “You know, talking with a lot fans today, people are clearly really disappointed that we are not involved. However, it’s possible that I am lying. It’s all about us! Maybe we aren’t. Perhaps we are!

We do know that Veep star Sam Richardson is in the sequel, but we are still not sure who he will be playing. The trailer does not give much information beyond the possibility of him being a shop owner or librarian at an occult bookstore. He teased that he is just as a big fan of Hocus Pocus.
“To work alongside the ladies is… He said , “I’m not myself when I’m doing these scene,” “I feel like they are here! “The Sanderson Sisters look like they are doing their spells, and I smile on my face.”

Disney announced more cast members for Halloween 2021. Richardson’s Veep star Tony Hale joined the sequel along with Ted Lasso, and Game of Thrones Star Hannah Waddingham. Both of them are in unspecified roles.
Waddingham remains tight-lipped about her role but, like Richardson it’s obvious that she is a Hocus Pocus enthusiast as we.
“I went to Rhode Island for my fitting and the assistant director told me that all the women would love to meet you. My jaw dropped. I went with them and sat down in their costumes. She told Variety that Kathy Najimy and Bette Midler were there, as well as the mighty SJP.
We have not seen any glimpses of her or Hale in the teaser.
In addition to Doug Jones returning as Billy Butcherson in the cast announcement, Whitney Peak, Lilia Burkingham, and Belissa Eccobedo played Cassie, Izzy, and Cassie, respectively. These three teens became the targets of the Sanderson Sisters.

Juju Brener and Froy Gutierrez round out the cast. However, there are no details on who they are playing.
As drag versions to the Sanderson Sisters, we will also see three RuPaul’s Drag Race Queens. Kahmora Hall and Kornbread “The Snack” Jete will play Sarah, Mary, and Winifred Sanderson.
Jen D’Angelo wrote the sequel and Adam Shankman was originally supposed to direct it. Anne Fletcher was appointed to replace Shankman, but Shankman will remain as executive producer.
Hocus Pocus 2 plot – What will Hocus Pocus 2 look like?
We also received our first plot details regarding what to expect from the sequel.
It reads, “Three young women accidentally transport the Sanderson Sisters to modern-day Salem. They must find a way to stop child-hungry witches wreaking havoc in the world.”
This sounds a lot like the sequel, which was published in July 2018. It focuses on Max and Allison’s daughter Poppy, Travis, and Isabella, who Poppy has a crush.
Poppy, in an attempt to impress Isabella and sneak into the Sanderson house during the blood moon, accidentally brings the sisters back. This is what might happen in the sequel to the movie, but it’s not clear if that will be the case.
Spoiler alert: The first movie ended with the magic book wiggling its eye, proving that it was still alive and that the witches could come back… OooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo.
Although we don’t know much about the sequel, it is enough to know that has been singing its praises. Midler stated in November 2020, “We all looked at the script and I think we all agreed that it was pretty amazing.”
Hocus pocus 2 will also include at least one musical number, like the original movie’s iconic I Put a Spell on You? sequence. The sisters performed Elton John’s ‘The Bitch is Back’ in footage that was shown at Disney’s upfronts presentation. We cannot wait to see the rest of the footage.
